One type of ink-jet print head involves thermal elements in the nozzles. When an electric charge is sent to the nozzle, the thermal element is heated. This vaporizes part of the ink, forcing it out of the nozzle in a spray onto the paper. The escaping ink is drawn from a collapsible bladder to refill the nozzles.
